Gary Neville teams up with Mark Goldbridge and buys out his channels

Gary Neville’s The Overlap has bought Manchester United influencer Mark Goldbridge’s YouTube channels.

In an eyebrow-raising move, the former United defender’s media firm will team up with the content creator, who is famous for his explosive rants.

The Overlap has paid an undisclosed seven-figure sum for The United Stand and That’s Football, as they seek to build ‘one of the most exciting football communities in the world’.

The deal will see Goldbridge continue to front both channels, which have a combined 3.7m subscribers, while what is being described as ‘a significant expansion’ will follow.

The United Stand will be extended to include ‘Stick to United’, which will feature former players and journalists and ‘The Daily United’, a daily United news strand. Other major clubs across Europe will also be targeted.

Gary Neville's The Overlap is expanding - by buying up Mark Goldbridge's YouTube channels

Goldbridge has amassed 3.7million subscribers on YouTube - and now teams up with Neville

Neville, executive director of The Overlap, said: ‘We are building what we believe will become one of the most exciting Independent football communities in the world – one that gives fans direct, personality-led content.

‘The United Stand and That’s Football are two of the best-known football channels on YouTube, and our intention is to develop them into the most compelling Manchester United and football news channels in the market.’

Goldbridge added: ‘I’ve spent the last 10 years building The United Stand for Manchester United fans and That’s Football for all fans, and I’m prouder of that than anything I’ve ever done. This deal is about what comes next.

‘The Overlap has the ambition, the credibility, and the resources to help me take what I do to the next level.’

The move comes after Global, one of Europe’s largest commercial radio companies, took a majority stake in The Overlap in January.

Goldbridge has emerged as a controversial but prominent figure on Man United matters

Scott Melvin, co-founder and executive director of The Overlap added: ‘The market for independent football content is growing rapidly and the opportunity to build a genuinely scaled network within it is one we have been working towards for some time.

‘The Overlap exists to build the infrastructure, partnerships, and editorial range that allows the best channels to reach their full potential. Mark has built two of the biggest audiences in this space, and this deal accelerates everything we are building towards.’

Last year, Goldbridge’s channels moved further into the mainstream when he landed rights to broadcast top flight matches during the 2025-26 season.

The YouTuber, whose real name is Brent Di Cesare, announced his That’s Football page would stream 20 live Bundesliga matches. The Overlap won similar rights.
