Trump threatens four-hour obliteration of Iran tomorrow night

Donald Trump has threatened to ‘obliterate’ Iran by destroying all of its bridges and power plants in just four hours tomorrow night.

He said ‘very little is off limits’, adding: ‘We have a plan because of the power of our military. Every bridge in Iran will be decimated by by 12 o’clock tomorrow night (05:00 BST Wednesday).

‘Every power plant will be out of business, burning, exploding and never to be used again, I mean complete demolition by 12 o’clock. It will happen over a period of four hours if we want it to.’

Mr Trump has given Tehran a deadline of 20:00 ET tomorrow night (01:00 BST Wednesday) to make a deal with the US or face ‘living in hell’ within just four hours.

He added: ‘We don’t want that to happen. We may even get involved with them rebuild their nation. If that’s the case, the last thing we want to do is start with power plants which are among the most expensive things – and bridges.’

The president also vowed to find the ‘sick person’ who ‘leaked’ details of the ‘very historic’ US rescue mission of a downed airman in Iran.

Speaking at a press conference at the White House, he said his administration is looking ‘very hard’ to find the person responsible for the leak.

Mr Trump said this is a matter of ‘national security’ before warning the reporter they will be imprisoned if they don’t reveal who gave them information.

‘They put the mission at great risk,’ Mr Trump said.

Key moments from a fiery press conference

Donald Trump held a press conference at the White House on Monday, where he threatened to obliterate Tehran in just fours tomorrow, destroying all of their bridges and power plants.

In an explosive 90 minutes, the US President also said:

  • The journalist who published leaked information on the US rescue mission of a downed airman will be arrested if they don’t reveal their source
  • He reiterated the threat to send Iran ‘back to the Stone Ages’
  • Mr Trump touted the prospect of the US charging tolls for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz
  • He lashed out at NATO allies for not unconditionally supporting the war in Iran, claiming it has ‘left a mark that will never disappear in my mind’.
  • The president also hit out at the UK, claiming Sir Keir Starmer only offered to send ‘two old broken aircraft carriers’ before swiping that they ‘barely work’
  • He claimed Iran has slaughtered 45,000 anti-government protesters since January
  • US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said tonight will see the heaviest onslaught on Iran yet.

Iran rejects ceasefire proposal

Iran has formally objected to a ceasefire proposal put forward by Pakistan, Iranian state media is reporting.

The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports Iran wants a permanent end to the war instead.

According to the IRNA, Iran has called for an end to hostilities in the region, new protocols regarding passage through the Strait of Hormuz and sanctions to be lifted.

It comes after Pakistan put together a framework to end hostilities and exchanged it with Iran and the US overnight.

The proposal includes an immediate ceasefire followed by an agreement to permanently end the war.

All the Iranian power plants in Trump’s crosshairs

President Donald Trump has issued a new threat to Iran, promising to ‘blow everything up and take over the oil’ if the country does not make a deal with the US soon.

During a phone call with Fox News’ chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst on Sunday morning, Trump told him he is considering taking far more drastic measures.

‘If they don’t reach a deal – and soon – I’m considering blowing everything up and taking control of the oil,’ Trump said, according to Yingst.

Trump’s latest threat comes just hours after he issued a foul-mouthed rant on social media, bizarrely ending the post with the phrase: ‘Praise be to Allah.’

He wrote in a Truth Social post early on Easter Sunday morning: ‘Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran.

‘There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy b*****ds, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.’

The commander-in-chief said Iran has until Tuesday at 8pm to accept the offer, he shared to Truth Social on Sunday afternoon.

What is the situation for Iranian civilians?

A United Nations group has warned that the humanitarian situation in Iran is declining.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that the number of casualties rose sharply in the second half of March, as strikes were increasingly reported to be hitting civilian sites.

Hospitals, airports, markets, schools and industrial sites have all reportedly been damaged by bombardment.

OCHA says that from the start of the war to March 30 in Iran:

  • Over 2,100 civilians have been killed
  • Over 27,900 people have been injured
  • Over 3.8 million people have been ‘impacted’

It released a statement reading: ‘Strikes on critical infrastructure and industrial sites have disrupted basic services including electricity, water and telecommunications, also leading to increasing immediate and longer term environmental and health risks.’

Iran’s supreme leader issues rare statement

Mojtaba Khamenei has expressed his condolences over the killing of Iran’s intelligence chief in a rare statement.

Khamenei has still yet to be seen in public, recorded, heard from or pictured since replacing his slain father Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In a written social media post, Khamenei said Major General Majid Khademi joined a ‘steadfast line of warriors and fighters’ to sacrifice their lives.

He added such actions will not deter Iranian forces.

Donald Trump has revealed extraordinary new details about the daring rescue mission to extract a wounded US airman who spent almost 48 hours stranded in Iran.

The US President described an all-hands-on-deck operation that employed 155 aircraft – including 64 fighter jets, 48 refueling tankers, 13 rescue aircraft, three helicopters ‘and more.’

Trump lauded ‘a breathtaking show of skill and precision, lethality and force’ as US forces swooped on mountainous terrain in southern Iran to rescue the weapons systems officer (WSO) whose F-15E fighter jet went down on Good Friday.

‘He scaled cliff faces, bleeding rather profusely, contacted his platoon, treated his own wounds and contacted American forces,’ Trump said of the officer, who was rescued on Easter Sunday.

Mr Trump admitted that there were military officers who were opposed to the operation which he said risked hundreds of lives. ‘God was watching us,’ he said.

Trump reiterates threat to send Iran ‘back to the Stone Ages’

The president said Iran will have ‘no bridges’ left if the regime does not agree to a deal before tomorrow’s deadline.

‘They’re going to have no bridges. They’re going to have no power plants. Stone Ages, yeah,’ he replies after being asked about his threat to return the country ‘back to the Stone Ages’.

Trump also said he would rather the Kurds stay away than help. Earlier, he said Kurdish groups kept weapons the US had wanted to hand over to anti-government protesters inside Iran.
