Rihanna and A$AP Rocky stepped out in public for the first time since the shooting at their Beverly Hills home by 35-year-old suspect Ivanna Lisette Ortiz a month ago.
The singer, 38, and her significant other, 37, made a dramatic entrance as they headed to dinner in Paris on Saturday with two of their three children, sons RZA, three, and Riot, two, along with Rihanna’s mother Monica Braithwaite.
Rihanna, who has been in Paris for high-profile fashion events and to promote her Fenty Beauty brand as well as Rocky’s AWGE menswear, looked glamorous in deep burgundy slacks and a red sweater vest.
The Diamonds hitmaker – whose terrifying account of the shooting attack was laid bare in court documents – carried a Dior Dracula purse in bright yellow and wore pointy shoes that complemented her ensemble brilliantly.
Rocky was equally stylish in a black trench coat and dark shades.
The couple seemed to be in good spirits as they arrived at Siena restaurant, a popular Italian eatery known for its elegant atmosphere. Their mood was an amazing feat given the horrifying experience they went through.
Ortiz was arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing multiple rounds from an AR-15 style rifle at the home belonging to Rihanna and Rocky on March 8.
Rihanna, Rocky and their three children – RZA, Riot, and daughter Rocki, five months – and the singer’s mother had been on the property at the time of the shooting, along with two staff members.
Two other individuals were also in the neighboring residence that Ortiz allegedly fired on from her vehicle.
No one was injured in the shooting, but a law enforcement official told the Los Angeles Times that Rihanna and Rocky ‘easily could have been hit.’
The Los Angeles DA announced in his press conference that Judge Theresa McGonigle had set Ortiz’s bail at $1,875,000.
Ortiz was ordered to stay away from Rihanna and Rocky in the event that she should make bail, and surrender all of her firearms.
While the motive for the shooting remains a mystery at this point, Ortiz had previously sent messages and posts that targeted Rihanna.
In one message, Ortiz suggested Rihanna had spoken negatively about her, though they weren’t known to have any connection, personal or professional.
Ortiz shared bizarre videos in which she claimed Rihanna wanted to kill her.
Ortiz, who had been a licensed speech pathologist for over a decade, has lost her license to practice in California at the request of the state attorney general in connection with her arrest following the March 8 incident, according to court documents reviewed by The Hollywood Reporter.
The suspect – who is originally from Illinois but resided in Florida up until her arrest – faces 14 charges in connection with the incident, including attempted murder.
The Daily Mail also revealed that Ortiz has had other brushes with the law including a previous arrest for domestic violence, careless driving and violating pretrial release conditions in Florida.
