Susanna Reid received support from viewers as she addressed her absence from Good Morning Britain – with Kate Garraway stepping in.

The presenter, 55, who has fronted the ITV show since 2014, currently presents primarily alongside Ed Balls.

Meanwhile, Susanna took to Instagram and explained her temporary exit to the programme’s viewers.

She shared a photo of herself in the studio, captioning: ‘LOVE IT! I am just hopping off for my Easter break – back @gmb on Monday, April 13.’

One follower commented: ‘Have a lovely Easter break!’

Another wrote: ‘Absolutely stunning have a great time off.’

Susanna has been a staple on the ITV show since 2014, currently appearing alongside the likes of Ed Balls and Kate Garraway

A third said: ‘Treat yourself to some nice easter eggs.’

A fourth chimed in: ‘Have a great holiday.’

While a fifth remarked: ‘You deserve a break as well.’

Furthermore, today’s (March 30) instalment was instead hosted by Kate Garraway and Paul Brand.

It comes as Kate, as well as Ranvir Singh, were blasted by frustrated viewers for their ‘ruinous’ habits.

Taking to social media to share their frustration, viewers claimed that Ranvir, 48, in particular, had a habit of talking over her co-presenter Kate, 58.

Kate has been a longstanding feature of morning TV and previously presented GMTV for a whopping ten years before joining GMB in April 2014.

Ranvir, meanwhile, joined the show the following month in May 2014, having previously made her morning TV debut on Daybreak in 2012.

On Monday (March 30), Kate fronted the latest Good Morning Britain alongside fellow anchor Paul Brand

But despite having so much experience between them, viewers were left particularly frustrated by the presenters on Friday’s edition of the show, namely for constantly interrupting guests.

One blasted: ‘Ranvir & Kate are useless, get them off and some decent presenters!!!!!!!’

Other viewers echoed this sentiment, writing: ‘First time I’ve tuned in to your programme in a long time and all that woman who is presenting with Kate does, is interrupt and talk over people when they’re making their point! [sic].’

‘It’s screaming Friday all shouting and interrupting from me me Kate and me me Ranvir.’

‘Ranvir instead of stating the obvious that you’re dumb just let him explain.’

‘Wow, Ranvir being extremely snarky to that guest just because she is too stupid to grasp what he is saying…’

Taking a more specific angle with their criticism, one viewer said that the presenters simply didn’t have good chemistry.

They wrote: ‘This was ruined for me because [Kate Garraway] had once again some interesting points mirroring mine but Ranvir keeps talking over her and also talks so loud poor Kate gets talked over.

‘This chemistry isn’t working. Pls lose Ranvir she’s not a natural at this like #KateGarraway.’

This is not the first time that Kate and Ranvir have recently come under fire from viewers and earlier this month they were accused of spoiling the ending of a huge TV show ‘without warning’.

Good Morning Britain airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
