British tourist covered in excrement falls through Thailand café roof

A British tourist was rescued in Thailand after he fell from a hotel balcony while allegedly intoxicated and covered in faeces.

The 51-year-old was staying at a hotel in a popular red-light district in a coastal resort city.

The Brit, who had arrived in the country on September 23, was reported to be ‘extremely drunk’ when he returned to his room at The Freelancer Hotel in the early hours of Monday morning, November 4.

Staff said they heard groans and banging in the room but thought nothing of it – until the man’s legs tore through the ceiling of an adjacent internet café.

The café, packed with late-night gamers, was thrown into chaos as the naked holidaymaker cried for help with his legs dangling through the floorboards, resulting in the police being called.

Paramedics said they found the tourist in a dazed state and covered in excrement while half-lodged in the ceiling.

The police department confirmed that the man sustained only minor injuries when emergency responders freed him from the wooden ceiling boards.

Officers covered him with a blanket before escorting him to the ambulance, where he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and observation.

Staff and officers were stunned when they inspected the Brit’s room, where they discovered a ‘stomach-churning stench’ and excrement smeared across the floor.

Despite conducting a thorough search of the room and balcony – which was located was directly above the roof of the café, officers confirmed they had found ‘nothing illegal.’

Lieutenant Thanawee Yarangsee, who responded to the incident, said: ‘The tourist had minor injuries but he will be discharged from hospital to have time to rest and become sober.

‘We have some ideas about what he was doing in the room to make it so dirty but there was nothing illegal.

‘It is his private life, so he will have to speak with the hotel to negotiate the bill.’

Terrified gamers in the café were forced to vacate the premises because the smell was ‘so bad.’

Somrak Senso, 28, who had been gaming in the café when the incident occurred, said: ‘At that time, the shop was full of people, more than 20 people. I was sitting playing games downstairs.

‘After a while, I heard the first thump. I didn’t think much of it. After a while, there was another thump.

‘The ceiling started to break more. There were legs coming down, right on my head. So I called the staff to come and look.’

Senso added that the ceiling ‘started to sink,’ prompting him to take a closer look – but was soon hit with an unpleasant smell.

He said: ‘I smelled it, but I thought it was a broken water pipe or something.

‘When I went up to look, I saw poop all over the room. It was all over the bed. He couldn’t speak coherently.

‘He must have been very drunk. But I didn’t see any liquor bottles in the room. He was alone. No one was there.’

While no witnesses saw the exact moment he fell, police and hotel staff are investigating how the holidaymaker ended up in such a state.

In the meantime, the Brit remains in the hospital, expected to be released once he has recovered fully from the ordeal.

It comes after Boozy British ravers have stuck two fingers up at the Mallorcan authorities who are desperately trying to clamp down on binge drinking and all-night benders in the party town of Magaluf.

After 10,000 locals marched through Palma, telling tourists to ‘go home’, the government of the Balearic Islands introduced a slew of restrictions in a bold attempt to stop alcohol and drug-fuelled partying.

However, when MailOnline visited Magaluf in June, Brits cackled with laughter at the thought they would stop bingeing because of the new rules and said the Spanish government should just ‘f*** off’ and they were going to ‘get p***ed’ no matter what.
