William and Kate address Epstein scandal to express ‘deep concern’

The Prince and Princess of Wales today broke their silence on the Epstein scandal saying they are ‘deeply concerned’.

William and Kate said their ‘thoughts remain focused on the victims’ of the child predator and his global network.

Their intervention came as the prince flew to Saudi Arabia for an official visit to the desert kingdom.

And it flew in the face of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s long-standing arrogance amid mounting evidence of his deep friendship with the paedophile.

It came 10 days after shocking new details from the Epstein files engulfed the Government and the Royal Family.

Speaking to journalists in the Saudi capital Riyadh this morning, a Kensington Palace spokesman said: ‘I can confirm the Prince and Princess of Wales have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations.

‘Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.’

The then Prince Andrew meeting paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in New York

The remarks echoed the King and Queen’s support for the many victims of the prolific paedophile. Charles and Camilla became the first senior royals to publicly voice their support for many women and girls who suffered appalling abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has never voiced any sympathy for the victims of his friend’s horrendous crimes and is said to have even refused to sign off press statements that expressed even the broadest of support for the victims of abuse.

Last October Charles and Camilla became the first senior royals to publicly voice their support for the many victims of the prolific paedophile, saying: ‘Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.’

And last week, the Duke of Edinburgh was taking part in a press Q&A at the World Governments Summit in Dubai when he was asked about the King and Queen’s response to the issue.

Although he began by suggesting the audience might not be ‘the least bit interested’ in the issue given that they were there to discuss education policy, Edward, 61, went on: ‘I think it’s all really important always to remember the victims and who are the victims in all of this.’

Financier Epstein, who courted the world’s elite, was found dead in his cell in 2019 awaiting trial for masterminding a global network of child sex abuse. His madam, the British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, is in jail for helping him recruit schoolgirl victims to molest. The former Duke of York – a friend to them both who denies claims Virginia Roberts was forced to have sex with him aged 17 – has had his royal titles stripped from him and been sent into exile in Norfolk.

He famously told Emily Maitlis in his Newsnight interview he had cut ties with Epstein when he stayed with him in New York in December 2010. But the latest files show emails that tell a different story. With girls coming ‘after school’ and $5,000 cash floats, the full sordid truth about his wild visit to Jeffrey Epstein’s mansion to ‘break up their friendship’ showed he lied to BBC viewers.

He suggested he had stayed ‘four days’, but in truth, Andrew enjoyed the paedophile’s hospitality for nine days and the scheming financier organised a dizzying timetable of meetings and parties – starting with a ‘facial’ cosmetic treat, analysis of the latest cache of emails reveals.

Disturbingly, there are several emails to Epstein that week about young women apparently of school age. One ‘confirmed that she would come after school’, while another email stated someone ‘will come after school’.

They are not identified so it is unclear if the refer to the same girl – although these two emails were sent from different devices. Some Americans also refer to college as school.
