The Traitors’ Faraaz Noor reveals his secret trick to staying so calm

The Traitors star Faraaz Noor has revealed his secret to remaining calm while competing in the BBC show – and his plans for a big career change.

From Middlesborough, 22-year-old Faraaz was the youngest finalist in this year’s series of the ultimate game of deception.

He soon emerged as a fan favourite due to his happy-go-lucky attitude and easygoing personality.

Unfortunately, he fell at the final hurdle to Traitors and eventual winners, Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby.

Speaking to the Spent podcast, in association with Nationwide, about his time on the show, Faraaz shared how he maintained a cool composure throughout.

He revealed: ‘You have to understand it is just a game, and you have to detach your emotions from it, because if you let your emotions cloud over, then you’ve got no rationale.

‘You’ve got no logic, no sense. So for me, I found it quite, quite easy to sort of just sit back and understand it was a game, and then I could still enjoy company with them all.

‘I am just very chilled and laid back -‘

Faraaz added: ‘I’m just so grateful for my family, like my mum and dad have instilled such values in me, just to sort of take everything in your stride and not get too worked up about anything.

‘And also being Muslim as well, it’s having that like bigger gold and perspective of life.

‘So it really just allows me to take a step back and sort of know what’s important.’

Elsewhere in the chat, Faraaz discussed making a big career change following his time in the castle.

He said: ‘I’d love to go into sort of sport, presenting and broadcasting. That’s my bread and butter.

‘I love me boxing. Love me cricket, yeah, love me footy. So I’ll just love to follow that passion.’

If he had won The Traitors, Faraaz hoped to use the prize money to take his family on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

He told his fellow contestants: ‘For me, being Muslim, Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam.

‘Completing that pilgrimage in Saudi, going to Mecca. If I was to win the money, I’d love to be able to treat the family and all of us go as one.’

But despite not emerging victorious in the castle, Faraaz has received a lifeline to make this dream possible.

Shortly after the show’s finale aired, Pretty Little Thing co-founder Umar Kamani took to X, formerly Twitter, as he penned: ‘I would love to send Faraaz from Traitors and his family to Hajj.’

Speaking later at the Radio Times Covers Party 2026, Faraaz revealed he couldn’t stop crying after receiving the news.

He recalled: ‘I came back and I was talking to my mum and I was like, I just can’t… to Umar, I’m so grateful, Alhamdulillah, I was literally crying my eyes out honestly. I couldn’t believe it.’

Despite falling at the last hurdle of the BBC show, Faraaz said in an interview after the show that his dream of taking his family on the pilgrimage was still alive.

He told the BBC: ‘Inshallah, one day I’ll be able to hopefully take them to Hajj or even complete Umrah. I’m looking forward to that.’

The Traitors series 1-4 is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
