Bizarre moment David Beckham question stuns manager post match

A Champions League manager was left baffled on Wednesday night after being asked for his thoughts on the split between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents David and Victoria.

Brooklyn’s attack has generated widespread comment in recent days, with David responding at the unlikely location of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

While David was undoubtedly braced for a question, the manager of Cypriot football team Pafos was unlikely to be expecting the subject to be raised in a press conference after a Champions League match.

Albert Celades had seen his Pafos side produce a spirited performance against Premier League giants Chelsea, with the competition debutants losing narrowly 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard fielded routine questions about the match before the press conference took a major diversion into the Beckham feud.

Celades played for Real Madrid between 2000 and 2005, including a spell as Beckham’s team-mate after the England star joined from Man United in 2003.

The reporter asked: ‘You obviously played for some time with David Beckham at Real Madrid, have you been following his saga? And what are your thoughts on it?’

A bemused Celades broke into a smile, before questioning ‘What is this saga?’

The Pafos press officer was then quick to intervene and offer advice to Celades.

‘Don’t answer this question, I think the question is not relevant to Pafos FC. I am sorry,’ the press officer could be heard saying.

‘I don’t understand the last word, but we played together, yes,’ Celades ultimately replied.

The bizarre exchange continued with the reporter who asked the question telling the Pafos boss ‘You are probably better not answering it, probably wise.’

‘No, but I have a good memory of him, because we spent time together,’ Celades replied.

‘He was an amazing professional and a very good player of course.’

Brooklyn had launched a stunning attack on his parents earlier this week, accusing them of controlling narratives about his life and undermining his marriage to Nicola Peltz.

In his statement, Brooklyn also claimed they had humiliated him and alleged that his brothers were being ‘sent to attack him on social media’.
