Police mock Man City fan ‘found with drugs’ by donning their jerseys

Thai police mocked a Manchester City fan allegedly caught with drugs by donning red United shirts in a picture with their suspect.

The tattooed 43-year-old is alleged to have been found with three methamphetamine pills just hours after his team lost 2-0 at Old Trafford last Saturday.

He is pictured sitting in his blue City jersey with three red pills in a bag on the table in front of him and three Thai cops wearing red United shirts behind him with badges around their necks.

The man was collared by police in Dech Udom, North East Thailand, and the delighted police officers took to social media and posted the picture on Facebook with the caption: ‘Manchester is RED’, The Sun reported.

The post quickly went viral, one commenter saying: ‘Being police is a serious job so it’s good to see policemen with a sense of humour.’

Another chimed in: ‘Incredible picture.’

Thailand is one of the strictest countries in the world with its drug laws, with major trafficking offences still carrying the death penalty.

For personal use, those caught can face up to a year in prison and/or fines of up to 20,000 Baht (£476) for Category 1, 2, and 5 substances.

Man City trail behind Arsenal who have maintained their lead of the Premier League

This is not the first time that Thai police have worn football jerseys like this – last March, Thai cops arrested a man who ran a stall selling meatballs as a front for dealing methamphetamine tablets, The Sun said.

He had been wearing a Newcastle top while the police wore Liverpool colours – the officers getting revenge just after Toon beat Arne Slot’s team 2-1 at Wembley.

United heroes Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu managed to slot two past Gianluigi Donnarumma to give Michael Carrick a winning start to his

After a staunch performance by the City goalkeeper, Mbeumo booted one into the back of the net in the second half just after the hour mark.

Dorgu sealed the deal a quarter of an hour later with 14 minutes left on the clock, smashing it in from close range in derby day glory.

Arsenal remain at the top of the Premier League, with City trailing.

The Gunners later drew with Nottingham Forest.
