Bella Thorne has claimed that a major male pop star ‘lied’ about her after she refused to sleep with him.
The former Disney channel actress, 27 – who recently listed her massive 10-acre L.A. property for $4M – made the claim about singer Charlie Puth in the comment section of an Instagram account by the name of @popfaction.
The post shared a quote from Little Mix member Jade Thirlwall which read: ‘My fans already know someone I wouldn’t collaborate with, which is #Charlie Puth.’
Thorne then wrote in the comments, ‘Yeah I mean .. he lied to the entire world about me and started a hate train. All because I wouldn’t …. Do the deed with him.’
Bella was briefly linked to the We Don’t Talk Anymore hitmaker in December 2016 – but he went on to later publicly claim on X (formerly Twitter) that she had still been with actor Tyler Posey.
She went on to explain that Charlie had come across an old article about herself and Posey – whom she had broken up with before being spotted with Puth.
DailyMail.com has reached out to reps for Thorne and Puth for comment.
The Shake It Off alum and music artist were first linked in December 2016 and were also spotted at Jingle Ball in Miami together.
The two stars were pictured on the red carpet as they flashed big smiles for the cameras.
However not long after on X, Puth went on to accuse Thorne of infidelity after coming across an article about the actress’s relationship with Posey.
He had written: ‘I can’t believe what I’m reading. No one should have their heart messed with like this, and I’m not going to be in the middle of it.’
The Attention singer then addressed Tyler in a separate post and shared, ‘I don’t know Tyler personally, but I know he shouldn’t be treated this way. She told me she was not with him anymore. This is all news to me.’
Bella soon responded to the singer’s claims and also clarified that she had never officially dated Puth.
She posted: ‘Ty and I have been broken up for like over two weeks and charlie and I ARENT DATING we are friends. That article was written forever ago.’
Thorne also expressed, ‘Charlie and I were hanging out.. he saw an old interview and got butthurt but instead of texting me and asking about it he put it on Twitter.’
The following year, Thorne set the record straight as she further addressed the drama during an appearance on Sirius XM’s The Jenny McCarthy Show.
‘Honestly, Ty and I stopped dating and that was really difficult for me,’ the actress explained. ‘It was definitely one of the hardest breakups I’ve been through.
‘Basically, Ty and I stopped dating and Charlie had been tweeting about me for a while. He was trying to reach out to me.’
Bella recalled hanging out with Puth only two times and said that he ‘was cool.’
She continued, ‘I was like, “Wow, you’re really talented. Holy s***. You’re f***ing great, dude.” And then he invited me to Jingle Ball to watch him perform.’
But not long after Bella and Charlie were seen at the event together, the actress said that everything got ‘blown way out of proportion.’
The Babysitter star said that the singer had seen an old article that was about her and Posey’s relationship. She was confirmed to be dating the Teen Wolf actor in fall 2016.
‘In Charlie’s defense, when he read it, not reading the date, it sounded like it was about me and Ty still being together. He didn’t even text me or talk to me about it.’
Thorne revealed that she also reached out to Posey amid the drama to explain what had happened. He seemingly understood the situation and they hung out not long after.
Bella has since moved on with Bad Vegan producer Mark Emms – whom she became engaged to in May 2023.
The actress previously opened up about her relationship with Emms during an interview with People later that same year and gushed, ‘Every day we kind of draw closer.’
She added, ‘It’s really like, “Oh wow, we’re really, you’re my partner.” Let’s do this together. So that kind of becomes more real every day, and kind of solidifies our partnership more and more every day.’
Thorne also gave a little insight into their upcoming wedding and told the outlet, ‘All our planning goes into work.
‘We have not done the wedding planner yet. We haven’t gotten to that stage yet,’ she added at the time.
‘We’re just so busy and every time we’re like, “Okay, babe, let’s do it,” we always end up doing it with work.’
Last year, Puth tied the knot with family friend Brooke Sansone after he popped the big question in 2023.
