Jack Grealish makes emotional Man City admission at Oasis concert

Jack Grealish emotionally declared his love for Manchester City supporters as he looks set to leave the club.

In the summer of 2021 Grealish became the most expensive English footballer in history when Pep Guardiola splashed out £100million to sign him from his boyhood club Aston Villa.

Grealish would go on to play a key role for the club as they won the treble in the 2022-23 campaign, making 50 appearances in all competitions as City were crowned kings of Europe for the first time in their history.

However, the 29-year-old has found opportunities hard to come by of late, and was left out of City’s 27-man squad for this summer’s Club World Cup.

Several clubs are understood to be currently monitoring Grealish, who still has two years remaining on his £300,000-per-week deal.

Despite his time at the Etihad seemingly nearing its end, Grealish clearly still maintains a deep affection for his club.

Both Grealish and Pep Guardiola were in attendance for Oasis' concert at Heaton Park

Grealish was spotted attending Oasis’ gig at Heaton Park on Friday, and was pictured speaking to supporters from the VIP barrier.

‘You know what? I love City more than anything,’ the England international told a fan.

‘And do you know what I love more than anything? City fans. They’re the best fans in the world.’

Guardiola was also in attendance at Oasis’ Heaton Park return, with the City-loving Gallagher brothers taking time out of their performance to heap praise on the manager.

Speaking last month Guardiola suggested a move away from City would allow the winger to recapture his best form.

‘He had a conversation with the club and they decided it was best,’ Guardiola said.

‘Jack is an exceptional player. The only reason why he didn’t play last season is of course my decisions.

Guardiola suggested last month that a departure would allow Grealish to get back to his best

‘We decide that he has to play. The club was honest, he was honest.

‘We decide that the best thing is to stay (behind) and have a place that he can feel like he can come back to be the player like he was in the year of the Treble or all his career in Aston Villa.

‘Without him it would have been more difficult in the year of the Treble.

‘The fact is in the last two seasons he didn’t play much minutes. He has to come back to play and have the butterflies in his stomach that he can play every three days, every three days and show again the quality he has.’
