Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter is hot property on the NFL coaching carousel after all eight teams with openings requested interviews with him.
Minter, who was brought to the Chargers with Jim Harbaugh in 2024 after working together at Michigan, is a potential head coach candidate for the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders.
According to NFL insider Albert Breer, he is set to hold interviews with the Titans and Cardinals on Tuesday.
Yet per NFL rules, in-person interviews can take place no earlier than January 19, meaning his initial talks with potential suitors can only be held virtually.
Minter is attracting interest from every franchise in need of a head coach this offseason after impressing in two seasons as Chargers DC.
In 2024, LA finished as the No.1 scoring defense, while they also finished with the fifth lowest total yards allowed and ninth lowest points allowed per game in the entire league this past season.
The 42-year-old, who is from Little Rock, Arkansas, began his coaching career as a defensive intern at Notre Dame, before following up a brief spell with Cincinnati by becoming a linebackers coach and later defensive coordinator at Indiana State.
He then occupied the same role at Georgia State for four seasons, before joining the Ravens as a defensive assistant in 2017.
Minter worked his way up to becoming defensive backs coach in Baltimore, a role he held for just one season. He then moved back into college football with Vanderbilt as defensive coordinator and safeties coach before his two-year spell at Michigan.
