Watford’s deal for Bove is moving
Earlier this week we told you about Watford holding talks over a deal for Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove, who suffered a cardiac arrest just over a year ago – and that deal is almost done.
The 23-year-old collapsed while playing a match on loan at Fiorentina and can no longer play in Serie A due to their regulations after being fitted with an implanted cardioverter defibrillator, similar to that of Christian Eriksen. His contract with Roma is set to be cancelled by mutual consent.
He can, though, play in the UK and it seems he will be seen in Watford colours sooner rather than later.
Gunners academy star Copley joins Crawley on loan
Arsenal midfielder Louie Copley has joined League Two side Crawley Town. The 19-year-old signed a new deal with Arsenal before committing to his loan move for the remainder of the season.
Copley, who joined Arsenal’s academy in July 2019 and signed his first professional deal in June 2025, was on the bench for Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Club Brugge in the Champions League in December.
He becomes Scott Lindsey’s sixth signing of the January transfer window, with Crawley 21st in League Two – two places and two points above the relegation zone.

Toon forward Parkinson in talks over move to Scotland
Newcastle United forward Ben Parkinson is in talks to join Scottish Premiership side Falkirk.
The 20-year-old striker has progressed through the ranks at Newcastle’s academy and made his first team debut against Bournemouth in 2023 not long after signing his first professional contract.
He was due to go out on loan last year but suffered an ankle injury and then broke a bone in his foot not long after his return. However, he has battled back to fitness and Falkirk boss John McGlynn is ready to give him a chance of regular first team football in Scotland’s top flight.
Falkirk are sixth in the table and face St Mirren this weekend before taking on Celtic in midweek.
New chapter for £62.5m Semenyo
Antoine Semenyo has been confirmed as a Manchester City player today after passing his medical and agreeing a five-and-a-half-year contract.
The 26-year-old landed in Manchester early on Thursday ahead of his £62.5million transfer with City paying the fee over two years. They will pay a further £1.5m in add-ons while Bournemouth will receive 10 percent of any profits on future sale.
He will take the No42 shirt, previously worn by City legend Kolo Toure.
City remain in talks over a January deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi also. Palace are willing to sell now for the right price rather than lose him for free in the summer when Liverpool, Arsenal and Bayern Munich would prefer to sign the 25-year-old.
All of those clubs are maintaining dialogue with Guehi’s representatives but City would like a deal now.
Spurs locked in talks over Souza
Tottenham remain in talks with Santos over left wing-back Souza. Spurs have made a revised offer of around £13million for the 19-year-old but the Brazilian club have been holding out for more plus a sell-on percentage.

Metz star Madjo in for Villa medical
Aston Villa have been in talks to sign Metz striker Brian Madjo in a deal that could rise to around £10m and the 16-year-old is having his medical.
The 6ft 4ins forward has been compared to Romelu Lukaku. He was born in Enfield but brought up in Luxembourg and has represented England at U17 level, and Villa see him as a talent for the future.
Forest add Ferguson to list of targets up front
Nottingham Forest have added Brighton striker Evan Ferguson to their list of striker targets alongside Wolves’s Jorgen Strand Larsen and Lorenzo Lucca of Napoli. Ferguson is on loan at Roma. Wolves defender Emmanuel Agbadou, meanwhile, is wanted on loan by Turkish side Besiktas.
Saints eye more reinforcements
QPR have had a bid in the region of £5m accepted by Southampton for defender Ronnie Edwards. Southampton have signed goalkeeper Daniel Peretz on loan from Bayern Munich.
Manchester City winger Emilio Lawrence is in talks to join Luton Town on loan.
Celtic want Birmingham City forward Kyogo Furuhashi on loan. The 30-year-old left Celtic last January to join Rennes for £10m.
However, Kyogo was frozen out at Rennes and joined Birmingham last summer.
