West Ham are in talks to add Lazio forward Taty Castellanos for £25million on the back of agreeing to sign Gil Vicente striker Pablo Felipe for £21m.
The Hammers made their move for Castellanos after being quoted £40m for Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen and discovering Crystal Palace’s Eddie Nketiah had picked up a hamstring injury.
Argentine Castellanos, 27, also had interest from Flamengo and Leeds but is keen on a move to London and is discussing a four-year deal.
West Ham also remain in discussions to sign Fulham winger Adama Troare on a short-term deal and have discussed a loan for Chelsea‘s Raheem Sterling, but the 31-year-old only wants a permanent move.
Brazilian Pablo Felipe arrived for his medical on Thursday ahead of completing his move from Gil Vicente, while West Ham hope to offset their outlay by selling Luis Guillerme to Sporting Lisbon for £17.5m. The 19-year-old is due in Portugal for a medical.
West Ham goalkeeper Krisztian Hegyi has also joined Hungarian side MTK Budapest on loan.
Aston Villa have signed 19-year-old Gremio forward Alysson on a long-term contract in a deal worth up to £10.5m.
Everton have recalled midfielder Harrison Armstrong from his loan Preston North End.
Southampton are finalising a loan for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz. The proposed deal includes a £7m option to buy.
Birmingham City are working on a £1.8m deal for Philadelphia Union left back Kai Wagner, 28.
Manchester United winger Sam Mather, 21, is in talks to join Turkish club Kayserispor on a free transfer with sell-on clause.
Celtic have agreed a loan deal for Bournemouth right-back Julian Araujo who has travelled for a medical.
Bournemouth are looking to recall Dominic Sadi from his loan at Novi Pazar, which will free up an international loan space to pave way for Araujo’s move.
