Nick Reiner’s family turns on him as he’s denied chance for bail: LIVE

Nick Reiner will remain in a Los Angeles jail after his initial $4million bail was suddenly changed Monday afternoon to a no-bail hold after he was taken into custody in connection with the grisly murders of his parents.

LAPD confirmed that Nick, 32, was ‘responsible’ for Rob Reiner and Michele Singer’s deaths.

Although officials did not release any further details about the murders, a police source who spoke to the Associated Press believe the couple suffered brutal stab wounds and were found with their throats slit on Sunday night.

At the time of Nick’s arrest, his sister Romy, 28, who discovered their parents bodies, told investigators her brother ‘should be a suspect’ because he was ‘dangerous.’

In a 2018 podcast appearance, Nick once revealed that he destroyed the family home he was living in while high on meth. ‘It’s not much of a story. I got totally spun out on uppers — I think it was coke and something else — and I was up for days on end,’ he revealed, before adding that he ‘punched’ various appliances around the guest house.

President Donald Trump claimed Reiner and Singer’s murders were the result of what he called ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ in a post on Truth Social on Monday.

Republicans turn on Trump for Reiner comments

Several Republicans have hit out at President Donald Trump for his post on the passing of Rob Reiner.

In his Truth Social post, the president argued that Reiner died of ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’

Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently sparred with the president over the Epstein files, argued that Reiner and his wife’s death is a ‘family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies.

‘Many families deal with a family member with drug addiction and mental health issues,’ she argued.

‘It’s incredibly difficult and should be met with empathy especially when it ends in murder.’

Rep. Thomas Massie also called Trump’s remarks ‘inappropriate and disrespectful.’

‘I guess my elected GOP colleagues, the VP, and White House staff will just ignore it because they’re afraid?’ he asked. ‘I challenge anyone to defend it.’

Rep. Nancy Mace, meanwhile, did not mention Trump’s post by name but said that ‘while I disagreed with Rob politically, vehemently at times, no one deserves the ending he and Michele received. No one.’

She went on to call the murder ‘tragic. Disgusting. Obscene. And devastating beyond words for their family.’

‘Life can be so unfair and this tragedy proves it.;

‘His father, Carl Reiner, was a great humorist before him and Rob followed in his dad’s footsteps doing a terrific job making many great films. I will always have fond memories of Rob and the idea that he and his wife will no longer be in the world with us is heartbreaking,’ he continued.

House Speaker condemns ‘senseless violence’

House Speak Mike Johnson told Capitol Hill reporters that the murders of Rob Reiner and his wife is an ‘unspeakable family tragedy,’ and ‘another reminder of just the senseless violence and evil that is so rampant in our society.’

‘We see evil all around us and during the holiday season, as we enter the holy season, we’ve begun Hanukkah, we’re coming up upon Christmas, we have to appeal to our better angels, and we have to, I think we’ve got to amplify those voices and those sentiments. So that’s my that’s my position on it,’ he added.

He went on to share that he felt ‘alone’ when he supported same-sex marriage in 2004, until Rob Reiner reached out and said he had his back.

‘So he’s been a friend for decades,’ Newsom said.

‘Political differences never stood in the way,’ James Woods says of Reiner

‘Rob and I remained good friends ever since we made GHOSTS OF MISSISSIPPI. The studio didn’t think I was old enough to do the part, but Rob fought for me,’ Woods wrote on X.
