Nadia Sawalha has revealed her beloved mother-in-law Diane has been ‘quite poorly in hospital’, forcing the family to cancel their live shows.

The Loose Women star posted on social media that she and her husband Mark Adderley had cancelled plans to release an episode of their Coffee Moaning podcast, as well as their scheduled live streams on their YouTube channel.

Nadia first shared news of the cancellations alongside a statement saying it was due to a ‘family illness.’

However, the day before, the star had commented under her most recent YouTube video that Diane, who they fondly refer to as ‘Nanny Di,’ had been unwell.

The message read: ‘We are very sorry but we have to cancel Coffee Moaning and all LIVE shows on The Sawalha Addlerley’s YouTube channel shows due to family illness.

‘We will let you know more asap. Love Nadia and Mark.’

Under their most recent YouTube video, Nadia told her followers that Mark’s mother Diane, who they fondly refer to as ‘Nanny Di,’ was ‘quite poorly in hospital.’

The family were then flooded with well-wishes from loved ones, with comments including: ‘Send our love to dear nanny Di;

‘Sending love and strength to you, the stress is relentless this year xxx; Family always must come first. We all love Nanny Di and hope she gets some medical intervention that eases her predicament sending love.’

Nadia and Mark boast over 150,000 subscribers on their family YouTube channel, and as well as posting daily video vlogs, also present their daily podcast Coffee Moaning.

Mark previously shared snaps of his beloved mother Diane on Instagram for Mother’s Day in March, writing:  ‘This is my “ma” aka Nanny Di … she’s had a rough year … and whilst she may well be more “mate” than “mom” … I will forever fight her corner … love you mom x.’

It comes after Nadia fought back tears as she opened up about her husband’s addiction issues on Loose Women.

She was joined in the ITV studio by host Kaye Adams and fellow panellists Oti Mabuse and Judi Love.

Talk turned to Wayne Rooney’s recent comments that he ‘needs to be managed’ and has been ‘saved’ from darkness by his wife Colleen.

The pro footballer claimed he would be dead if it weren’t for his partner, and opened up about his struggles with substance abuse and addiction issues.

Sharing their personal stories, it emerged that Nadia, 60, related strongly to the experience of guiding a loved one through periods of ill mental health.

She said of her husband Mark: ‘Mark does have mental health issues and I support him through that from a position of “I’m so lucky that I don’t go through that”.

‘When he’s low, it can be very hard but it’s not as hard as what he’s going through.

‘I help him see pinholes of light when it’s very dark,’ she continued.

The actress then became emotional, and her voice broke as she fought back tears.

She said: ‘Sorry I don’t know why I just got overwhelmed there, sorry.’

Nadia has been married to Mark for 23 years, and the couple share two daughters.

Speaking candidly, she continued: ‘I am a rescuer, and he’s co-dependent and I’m co-dependent.

‘When I met him, he was everything that I love about him, and it took me a while to realise that he had addiction problems, and him as well, he didn’t know.

‘I had already seen his heart and his soul and his beautiful brain. So, if you talk about rescuing – there was no choice, I was already there.’

Her heartfelt admission moved the studio audience, who clapped in support, but host Kaye was more sceptical, saying bluntly: ‘I don’t want to be anyone’s Mummy.’

‘But is that always the case?’ Nadia retorted, adding: ‘Mark supports me – but in different ways.’
