Simon Cowell has revealed what happened after his explosive clash with Lauren Silverman on his upcoming Netflix documentary while appearing on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.

Last week, the streamer shared a glimpse of Simon Cowell: The Next Act, which will see him go on the hunt for a new boyband.

It saw Lauren, who has been married to Simon since 2013, break down in tears and storm off set after a row about family commitments.

Simon opened up about the aftermath during a pre-recorded chat with GMB’s entertainment editor Richard Arnold, 56.

Speaking on the ITV show, Simon, 66, said of the row: ‘We kind of argued for one moment… then 10 minutes later, we’re laughing about it.

‘I think she’s the star of the show now!’

He also revealed that she originally didn’t want to appear on the documentary.

Simon explained: ‘Lauren… she is so unfiltered. I didn’t know whether she was going to want to be a part of it.

‘Her initial reaction was “Are you crazy?!” and I said: “Well… if we’re going to document this properly, you can’t be hiding in the shadows every time the film crew come along!’

It comes after fans saw Lauren break down in tears and storms off set after a row about family commitments.

Netflix dropped a sneak peek of the upcoming docu-series set to hit the streaming service on December 10.

The streamer states: ‘From raw open casting calls to the release of the group’s debut single, this is an all-access pass for viewers to catch every moment of Cowell’s next chapter. Will he strike gold and break industry records once again?’

The streamer has given fans a glimpse of what they can expect and in a clip posted to their Instagram, Simon, 66, and wife Lauren, 48 - who he tied the knot with in 2013 - clash over attending Lauren's son Adam graduation

Lauren replies: 'Babe, you're doing one thing for me, which is going to my son's high school graduation. Yes you have to be there, okay?'

During the disagreement, Simon can be seen lying down on a comfy arm chair as a IV drip is attached to his arm.

Talking to the camera, Lauren says: ‘Work for Simon is not just work. It’s his hobby. It’s his passion. It’s his baby. It’s his love. It’s his life.

‘I do worry about burnout with him.

‘I think the hardest thing is just trying to keep our family, you know, a unit.

‘And I have my other son, Adam, who’s also, you know, in another country.’

Simon asks Lauren: ‘Tell me about the weekend… I don’t have to be there for the whole graduation, do I?’

Lauren replies: ‘Babe, you’re doing one thing for me, which is going to my son’s high school graduation.

‘Yes you have to be there, okay?

‘I mean it’s not going to be long, it’s just…’

Simon interrupts and says: ‘Oh, it is, Lauren… they go on for hours!’

Lauren tells him: ‘Babe, it’s one grade. It’s not like it’s a whole school.’

She continues: ‘You’re his stepfather, and he’s so proud of you. He wants to like, you know, show you off.

‘He’s really excited for you to be there.’

Simon replies: ‘No, I want to see him graduate, not the other kids.’

Lauren goes on to tell him: ‘You make me feel bad about the graduation. You’ve known about this for fucking five years.

‘Now you’re making me feel like you don’t want to go.’

Lauren tells Simon: 'I never complain, I'm just there for you, because that's what you do when you love somebody'

Simon desperately tries to make things better and tells her: ‘I do want to go!’

He continues: ‘I only asked what time, how long it takes. I’ve never been to one before.’

Lauren tells him: ‘You’re moaning about everything. You know what, do whatever you want.’

Simon says: ‘I was just asking what time we’re flying out.’

‘You’re really upsetting me, because I do everything for you,’ Lauren tells him. ‘And that is really rude.’

Lauren then tells the camera: ‘If I’m upset about something, you’re going to know it. At the end of the day, family is the most important thing.’

She then asks one of the crew to remove her microphone and tells Simon that she’s going to go, prompting him to beg her to stay.

‘Don’t be so dramatic,’ he tells her.

Lauren says: ‘I never complain, I’m just there for you, because that’s what you do when you love somebody.’

Talking to the camera, Simon says: ‘Lauren, she’s very strong. Very emotional. But I love that.

‘The reason we have such a great relationship is she always tells me the truth.’

Netflix captioned the post: ‘Creating the next great boyband will require sacrifice from everyone — including Simon himself.

‘SIMON COWELL: THE NEXT ACT premieres December 10.’
