Erika Kirk breaks down in tears on Fox News during chat about Charlie

Erika Kirk broke into sobs as she revealed what upsets her the most about her late husband’s death during an appearance on Fox News meant to promote his final book.

Kirk, 37, explained that seeing the conservative activist’s favorite hot sauce on the supermarket shelf is a surprising trigger for her.

The sight forces her to relive the horror of his assassination in Utah three months ago, she explained to the cast of Fox & Friends.

‘What really just hits me hard is when I’m in the grocery store and I see his hot sauce and I want to buy it,’ Kirk said, on the show Tuesday to promote her husband’s final book, ‘Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life.’

‘Or it’s the little things, his clothes everywhere,’ she went one. ‘I know that people who have experienced loss totally understand what I’m saying.’

Kirk eventually explained how ‘it’s the small things’ that get to her three months later.

‘It’s the visual of daddy coming home. To the world he was Charlie Kirk, to us he was the love of my life, my children’s dad, I’m so sorry. It’s those little things, he would walk through the door, drop his things, daddy’s home,’ she tearfully explained.

‘He would take his phone, put it in the drawer.’

Erika Kirk broke down in tears while discussing her late husband Charlie on Fox News Tuesday morning

The book, Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life', was finished just weeks before Charlie's death

Her husband, one of the biggest youth leaders in the US, was shot and killed at a Turning Point USA debate at the University of Orem in Utah on September 10. He was 31.

Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old in custody for his death, has been charged with aggravated murder.

Kirk has taken over as Turning Point CEO in her late husband’s stead.

He finished what would be his final book only a month before he was assassinated, Kirk said Tuesday.

Host Ainsley Earhardt assured her after she began crying: ‘I cannot million what you are going through, you found the love of your life, the goal for all of us. He was taken so early.’

Kirk penned the foreword for her husband’s book as well, and a passage was flashed on-screen.

‘I knew Charlie so deeply, in a way no one else could. That is why I can say with certainty: these pages are not theory for him, they are testimony. The words you hold in your hand were the convictions he lived that were written on his heart,’ a portion read.

‘Looking back now, I see the book as one of Charlie’s most enduring gifts to the world. He did not know how brief his time on earth would be – none of us did.’

Host Ainsley Earhardt assured a Kirk during the appearance: 'I cannot million what you are going through, you found the love of your life, the goal for all of us. He was taken so early'

‘But the truths written in the book are not bound by time on earth would be – none of us did – but the truths written in the book are not bound by time. They will outlive us all, as will the legacy of his faith,’ the foreword continued.

Kirk continued to talk up the posthumously published book’s ‘powerful’ contents when the passage was finished.

She then took the time to remember her husband as she lamented how, in her words, ‘Miscommunication is out of control.’

‘He was so good at communicating and understanding and bridging that gap.

‘And for him, this book was one of those moments where, OK, if you have communication, mixing with people turning off the noise and the chatter and resetting and rehumanizing, putting those together, is a beautiful symphony of how this country can heal.

‘He knew that and wanted to share with everybody,’ Kirk insisted.

On Sean Hannity’s show the night before, Kirk insisted, ‘You can be a non-observing citizen and use this book to change your life.’

The former Miss Arizona - seen here on-stage with Megyn Kelly last month - took over as Turning Point USA's CEO shortly after his death

Charlie and Erika are seen together at the White House on January 22. The book, Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life', is available nationwide

At Charlie’s memorial service in September, Kirk said that she forgave Robinson ‘because it’s what Christ did.’

‘The answer to hate is not hate.’

Charlie’s final book came out on Tuesday and is available nationwide.
