Table full of Thanksgiving food comes crashing down to the ground

What was supposed to be a funny and festive pre-dinner moment for a massive New Jersey family turned into instant Thanksgiving chaos when a table suddenly collapsed.

Trays of food, pottery and decorations were sent crashing to the floor in a jaw-dropping moment all caught on video.

The clip shows a young family member finishing a pre-Thanksgiving speech in front of a long table overflowing with holiday dishes.

Moments after the final words are spoken, the entire tabletop tipped forward without warning, dumping the entire banquet onto the floor in one fell swoop.

Family members stood there in stunned silence before gasps and a scream followed just before the video abruptly ends as the family realizes weeks of prep are now on the carpet.

‘We were filming our pre-Thanksgiving speech by one of our little cousins and right as she finished, the table broke and all the food fell to the ground,’ said Kat Hovnanian, who filmed and shared the video online.

She said the food had been prepared over weeks of nonstop cooking by her determined aunt.

‘Auntie Siran spent weeks preparing and cooking but she was an absolute champ about it,’ Hovnanian said.

Relatives from a new Jersey family were enjoying listening to a pre-Thanksgiving meal speech

Moments later, a table, heavily loaded with food, suddenly collapsed under the weight of a feast fit for 150 people

‘We are an Armenian family of about 150 people. We picked whatever we could off the floor – there was enough but most of it was destroyed.’

According to Hovnanian, the collapse wasn’t sabotage, clumsiness or bad luck – it was simple physics with the table overwhelmed by the excess weight all positioned at one side.

‘There was too much weight at the front of the table because of all the food,’ she explained. ‘What (sic) an Armenian Thanksgiving with too much food!’

Hovnanian doubled down on the family pride behind the over-the-top spread, adding: ‘My aunt – give her three cheers –  cooked all the food and spent weeks preparing to host our gigantic family! Weight distribution was off!’

By Saturday, the video had been liked more than 278,000 times, as viewers across the internet replayed the disaster in stunned amusement while sharing their own brutally honest reactions.

‘This is legitimately sitcom material,’ one person wrote in the comments.

‘Happy Thanksgiving to the ground,’ another joked.

‘This would have won on America’s Funniest Home Videos back in 2010,’ one quipped.

Delicious dishes and precious ornaments were sent tumbling to the floor

The hungry family were shock by what had occurred but incredibly managed to salvage a meal from the remnants strewn across the carpet

Others zeroed in on what happened after the collapse.

‘I am looking at the dishes to see which ones are salvageable – five second rule?’ one commenter suggested.

Another summed up the moment in just four words: ‘5 second rule initiated.’

‘Imagine you’re the family member who can’t cook so you brought the table,’ one savagely stated.

Hovnanian explained that while much of the meal was lost, enough food managed to survive for the massive group to still eat together.
