Brooklyn Beckham gets a Christmas stocking from his grandmother

Traditionally it’s a time of goodwill, kindness and generosity – just ask Jackie Adams, who has ensured her absent grandson still gets a stocking this Christmas, despite his pivotal role in a rapidly deepening family feud.

With David and Victoria Beckham thought to be spending the festive season with an assortment of extended family members, among them Victoria’s mother Jackie, eldest son Brooklyn will be ensconced at the Los Angeles home he shares with actress wife Nicola Peltz.

The influencer, who appears to spend much of his time filming Instagram content for his 16 million followers, has been notably absent from every key family event over the course of the year – among them his father’s milestone 50th birthday celebration and long awaited recent investiture.

But while his self-imposed estrangement is expected to continue over Christmas, Brooklyn’s grandmother Jackie has ensured he will at least be present in spirit by including him among a series of personalised stockings for her numerous grandchildren.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Victoria shared a video of her mother’s festive display, tastefully ranged across a stone chimney breast in her front room.

Pinned above the hearth, identical red stockings for Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper are evident, alongside their numerous cousins – among them Liberty, Tallulah, Finlay and Quincy, the four children Victoria’s younger sister Louise shares with her ex-husband, Darren Flood.

Friends of the Beckham family say that Jackie – and David’s mum Sandra – are ‘very sad’ at the rift that means they no longer see, especially because they were always so close.

Jackie spent a lot of time with Brooklyn when he was a baby and young toddler because David and Victoria were still working away a lot. Sources say that Brooklyn was always so happy to see the two women at the many Beckham family get togethers.

‘David and Victoria are making peace with not having Brooklyn around, they are sad but they are having to accept it,’ says the source familiar with the fall out.

‘But it’s the grandmothers. They adore Brooklyn, they were so, so close to him. He loved them so much, he adored them in fact, but now they don’t see him.

‘They’re not getting any younger and the cold truth of it all is that nobody knows when they will see Brooklyn next. It’s Jackie and Sandra who everyone feels so sorry for amongst the whole family schism.’

Sources say that both Jackie and Sandra were ‘very surprised’ to see that Brooklyn and wife Nicola had renewed their wedding vows earlier this year without telling them.

The couple were also absent as Victoria celebrated the launch of her Netflix docuseries with family members in October.

The fashion designer was surrounded by her nearest and dearest at the London premiere while Brooklyn and his wife were thousands of miles away in Beverly Hills.

Despite the rift, his grandmother has been keen to maintain a connection with Brooklyn, and even commented on one of his recent cooking tutorials.

Brooklyn, whose culinary skills have often divided followers, won universal praise in October after preparing a delicious looking beef wellington.

But it was a telling comment from Jackie which stood out, with the proud grandmother posting: ‘That looks amazing Brooklyn. Lots of love.’

In a recent interview, Victoria spoke about the ‘changing dynamics’ in her family in the midst of her feud with her son.

The fashion designer appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper and spoke about her ‘close family’, but did not reference Brooklyn directly.

She said: ‘I mean, we’re such a close family and, you know, communication is key and we always let them know that anything that they want to talk about, you know, this is a safe forum. You know, that’s really important.’
