A comic in David Mitchell’s new sketch show comeback Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping have opened up about what it was truly like on set.

The sketch show, created by The Peep Show stars David Mitchell, 51, and Robert Webb, 53, hit our screens on September 5 on Channel 4.

After six episodes, the programme wrapped up on October 10 – and as of yet, it has not been confirmed if it will be returning any time soon.

‘A sketch comedy series tackles historical moments, news, and awkward social situations with a self-aware approach, poking fun at life’s problems without trying to solve them,’ IMDB’s synopsis reads.

Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping also stars a selection of other comics including the likes of Stevie Martin, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Krystal Evans and Lara Ricote.

American stand-up comedian Krystal recently revealed what it was like being part of the show as someone from the US, as well as how grateful she was that they hired her for the gig.

The sketch show, created by The Peep Show creators David Mitchell, 51, and Robert Webb, 53, hit our screens on September 5 on Channel 4

David Mitchell and Robert Webb starred in Channel 4's The Peep Show between 2003 and 2015

Krystal recently told The Express: ‘They’re so cool, they made sure everything was in place for the writer’s room and the day-to-day shooting, so it was great working with them.

‘I learned loads and it was very fun.’

She added: ‘I’m grateful for things as they come, and it’s just crazy that such an iconic British comedy duo like Mitchell and Webb would embrace and hire an American.

‘I’m very, very grateful for that and for all the viewers.’

Mitchell and Webb’s new show isn’t the only programme that she has been on.

Krystal has also appeared on Comedy Central, Breaking The News and Scot Squad.

Her Instagram bio states: ‘A standup comedian on Mitchell & Webb Aren’t Helping and wrote a book and have podcast called Chrisy & Krystal Are In Heat and eats chips.’

She boats 4,440 followers on the platform.

As well as Mitchell and Webb, the show was also written by Krystal , Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Abigail Burdess and Sarah Campbell.

The programme is directed by David Sant.

Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping has recieved a bag of mixed reviews since it aired.

One said on Reddit: ‘Personally I laughed out loud at almost every sketch, great to see them back in sketch show mode. I loved Bruiser, The Mitchell and Webb Situation, and That Mitchell and Webb Look.’

‘Thought it was alright, chuckled and smiled my way through it. Nothing hilarious to me but I wasn’t expecting much out of it.i think the funniest bits were the writers room sketches.’

‘Yeah it’s great to see them back, great to see sketch comedy back in a TV format and great to see them giving young folks a chance. It’s not hitting the absurdity or the heights or their old stuff – Dr Death, Digby Chicken Ceaser, but it was never going to. But I chuckled and it’s nice to see them back at it. I liked the airport sketch, therapy, plumbing, writers room, and the final sketch from ep 1. Excited for episode 2.’

‘Saw the first episode, it was ok but it felt they lent far too much into swearing constantly and I am sure they never used to do that in their previous sketch show did they?’

‘It’s… fine. I’ve watched them all, and it raised a few smiles here and there. But there’s absolutely nothing on the level of Numberwang or Sir Digby Chicken Caesar. My main takeaway is that it’s a load of fairly weak punchlines stretched incredibly thin. David and Robert are still clearly very good comedy actors, but the writing lets things down and most sketches go on for far too long.’

Many have taken online to share their thoughts about the new show which hit our screens in September

‘Really sad to say I didn’t enjoy it 🙁 clicked off after about 5 sketches and watched I Think You Should Leave instead for a reminder of what brilliant sketch comedy looks like in this decade.’

‘I genuinely do not understand the criticism it’s been getting, admittedly I’m only 3 episodes in but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.’

This isn’t the only progrmame tht Mitchell and Webb are known for.

They have also starred n That Mitchell and Webb Sound, That Mitchell and Webb Look and Ambassadors.
