Alex Scott gave a rare insight into her sex life on Wednesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity.
The footballer, 41, revealed she had her first sexual encounter with a woman at the age of 17, but was ‘fighting’ her sexuality.
Alex, who is in a relationship with singer Jess Glynne, 36, spoke openly after campmate Ruby Wax revealed how the menopause made her completely lose her sex drive.
The sports pundit said: ‘It’s completely different with women, especially for me it’s always been about a deep emotional connection which then makes the sex more passionate than ever anyway because you have such a deep bond between you.’
This then prompted Ruby to joke: ‘I am envious. I wish I was a lesbian’.
Alex went on to talk about her dating history. She said: ‘I had relationships with men throughout my life, there was always something missing for me that I’d never have with a woman.’
‘My first with a woman was when I was 17, I was fighting it. I’d go back to men between because for me, it’s always about the connection.
‘I am attracted to men still, but literally that connection would just wear off for me. And then I’m like “well. I’m not enjoying the sex anymore”.’
Alex later reflected in the Bush Telegraph: ‘I think this whole experience being in this little confined space, it is such a unique, special experience you have no doubt you will have a bond afterwards.’
Fans took to X after watching the scenes, hailing Ruby as their winner already, while commending Alex for sharing her story.
They wrote: ‘Aww Alex’ and ‘Love Alex Scott’.
‘Just crown her already Ruby Wax Queen of the Jungle’ and ‘Who had Ruby Wax “I wish I was a lesbian” on their bingo card on today’s episode?’
‘I swear Ruby is a gem’.
Ruby has been married to producer Ed Bye for 37 years and has three children.
The discussion comes after Jess joked she ‘better go get a ring’ after Alex said she is ‘waiting’ for her to propose.
The former Lioness has been romantically involved with singer Jess since summer 2023.
The presenter opened up to her campmates Ruby and Shona as she said: ‘I think before her, I never knew happiness.’
This prompted Ruby to ask how the couple first met, to which Alex replied: ‘She approached me in Chiltern Firehouse…
‘I was in there with my friends and she just walked up to me… [it was] really ballsy and I was like, I like your ballsiness, and then the spark was just instant and then yeah…we fell madly in love.’
Continuing, Ruby then queried whether marriage would be on the cards for Alex and Jess.
Alex responded: ‘I will get married to her, just waiting for her to ask, Rubes!’
After watching the episode, Jess took to her Instagram Stories and quipped: ‘I better go get a ring’.
