Fulham star issues plea for fans to buy tickets before clash

Fulham midfielder Sander Berge has issued a plea to supporters to buy tickets for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wolves, as fans hit out at soaring prices.

Tickets for the match at Craven Cottage, which kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, remain on general sale with less than 24 hours until kick-off.

Berge appeared in a club video urging fans to attend, prompting anger on social media over the cost of seats in the club’s new Riverside Stand.

Supporters accused Fulham of pricing loyal fans out, with one ticket listed at £105 for an adult seat in the new development.

The club’s ticket portal shows a Riverside 1 seat available for £105, while young adults and seniors are charged £80, and Under 18s £55.

Reaction online was swift. One fan wrote: ‘Would love to go but prices are stupid.’ Another said: ‘Love Sander but these prices are absurd.’ Others described the situation as ’embarrassing’ and questioned why players were being asked to promote ticket sales.

The club's £100million Riverside Stand officially opened its full facilities earlier this year

Fulham have made no public comment on the reaction, but the controversy comes amid the backdrop of the west London club being among the Premier League’s most expensive sides to watch.

The highest-priced adult season ticket at Craven Cottage this season reportedly costs £3,084, more than Arsenal, Tottenham or Chelsea.

The club’s £100million Riverside Stand officially opened its full facilities earlier this year, featuring luxury restaurants, a rooftop pool and premium hospitality ranging from £2,708 to £20,000 per season.

While Fulham have positioned the stand as a major commercial step forward, the move has drawn criticism from supporters who feel priced out of attending matches.

The Fulham Supporters’ Trust has previously raised concerns about affordability across all sections of the ground, arguing that the club’s push for high-end hospitality has come at the expense of regular fans.

Ticket prices across the Hammersmith, Putney and Johnny Haynes stands have also risen in consecutive seasons.

The Riverside redevelopment has been described by club executives as a 365-day venue designed to boost long-term revenue. The club posted a pre-tax loss of £32million in the financial year up to June 2024, and hospitality income is seen as key to offsetting future deficits.

However, matchday pricing has become a flashpoint, with several Fulham fixtures last season seeing protests over ticket increases. Saturday’s pricing row has reignited those frustrations ahead of the Wolves fixture.

Reaction online was swift. One fan wrote: 'Would love to go but prices are stupid.' Another said: 'Love Sander but these prices are absurd.'
