Kelly Osbourne’s son Sidney recreates Ozzy’s bat incident in tribute

Kelly Osbourne’s son, Sidney, celebrated Halloween with a sweet tribute to his grandfather Ozzy.

The Black Sabbath legend died of heart failure at his Buckinghamshire home on July 22 aged 76, a fortnight after performing a farewell concert with his bandmates at Birmingham’s Villa Park.

The rocker famously bit the head off a bat during a concert in 1982, after he thought it was a rubber toy that had been thrown on stage.

Now, Kelly’s two-year-old son has reenacted the moment in a sweet clip shared on Instagram on Thursday.

The tot could be seen chomping the head off of a stuffed animal in the family’s home.

‘Learned from the greatest, Papa!’ Kelly – who shares Sidney with Slipknot’s Sid Wilson – captioned the clip.

It comes just days after Kelly took to her Instagram to mark 41st birthday, the first since the tragic death of beloved dad Ozzy.

Ahead of her big day Kelly shared an emotional post with snaps of the sweet cards Ozzy had sent her over the years, saying that her heart was left ‘shattered’ knowing she would never receive another.

Alongside a slew of throwback snaps of father and daughter she penned: ‘Tomorrow is going to be a first for me. The first birthday without my dad. Every year the thing I look forwarded to the most was spending the day with him and the cards he would write me’.

‘Knowing that I will never get one again shatters my heart Here are just a few of them. They were always short, simple but said everything I needed to hear. I love you Daddy tomorrow will suck without you’.

Mum Sharon, 73, then posted a tribute to her daughter writing: ‘Happy Birthday, Kelly! I’m so proud of you, you’re everything to me’.

Earlier this month, Kelly broke down in tears as she paid a moving tribute while accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award on his behalf at The Birmingham Awards.

Choking back tears, she told the audience that Ozzy was happier to be awarded a star on Birmingham’s Walk of Stars than on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Kelly revealed that the legendary singer returned to Birmingham, where he played at Villa Park with Black Sabbath, in his final weeks to say goodbye to the city he loved.

In a clip of her speech, Kelly said: ‘While most singers go their whole career without winning one but impressive as those awards are, this recognition tonight tops them all.

‘He was proud to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame but what he was most proud of was his star on the Walk of Stars on Broad Street.

‘He was forced to spend much of his life in America because of his work but Birmingham was always his heart and soul.’

In the video, taken by Joe Kenny at Done For You Sales Agency who were nominated for Best Start Up of the Year, Kelly added: ‘He loved this city, he loved the people as they loved him back. That’s why it was so important to come home one last time in July to say goodbye.

‘The tens of people who lined the streets and brought the city to a standstill, the affection you all had for him, my family and I were so so moved by the outpouring of love.

‘He performed thousands of shows for more than five decades but the most important gig he ever played was in Aston. Despite his health challenges in later years, he was determined his final concert had to be right here.

‘He was a proud Brummy in the beginning of his career and he was a proud Brummy at the end. Again, on behalf of my dad and my family, thank you for this wonderful lifetime achievement award. I know he’s looking down on us tonight smiling with pride.’

‘I can’t thank everyone enough for their love and support. I know that my dad was shining down on us from heaven with pride because being a Brummy meant more to him than anything.

‘He loved the city and he loved the people. This honour would have meant the world to him. From the bottom of my heart thank you.’

Fans rushed to offer their support in the comments, writing: ‘He is so very proud. Kelly, you are stunning,’; ‘Your father was the best. His music will never die,’;

‘Very, very nice. Be so proud of your father. You look great. He’s watching from above,’;

‘I love that you got to do that for your dad and I know he’s looking down smiling on you and all your family. His legacy will never die,’;
