Taylor Swift revealed even more details about her engagement to Travis Kelce on the same day she released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
While promoting her new record, which features many odes to her love story with her now-fiancé, she shared her honest thoughts about the way he proposed to her.
She showed off the massive 10-carat, brilliant cut diamond on her ring finger while making an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday.
While flashing her bejeweled finger, she shared the story of how her NFL star beau kept her distracted, making sure his proposal was completely under wraps, before he popped the question.
‘I just, like, watch it like it’s a TV,’ she said, at one point, while still clearly enamored by her newly minted status as a bride-to-be.
When Norton pulled up her Instagram engagement announcement on the screen and asked her if that was the ‘actual proposal,’ Swift replied: ‘It is, actually.’
‘So he really crushed it when it came to surprising me,’ she continued as she recalled how he managed to redecorate his garden without her noticing. ‘Because we had actually filmed a podcast episode — he has a podcast called New Heights.
‘So we filmed the podcast for about three or four hours or whatever,’ she explained.
‘And meanwhile, behind his house, he was having the whole back garden turned into this,’ she said as she gestured to the photos showing the over-the-top, romantic display of flowers where he would ask her to marry him.
‘And one of the things that he put in there very strategically was a wall of hedges that weren’t there before and inside the hedges was my tour photographer hiding in bushes that had not previously been there,’ she said.
As for how she felt about their intimate, low-key proposal at home, she gushed: ‘He went all out. Ten out of 10.’
About him making sure their engagement would be captured on camera, she later added: ‘It’s really fun that we actually have the exact moment.’
On the show, she also opened up about her wedding planning ideas.
When asked about when their nuptials will be happening, she told Norton: ‘You’ll know. I want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan.’
Kelce also previously opened up about setting up the proposal and admitted he ‘cried’ when he popped the question.
On the same day, the singer-songwriter also stopped by U.K.’s Heart radio station to promote her brand-new album.
During the interview, she revealed that Kelce designed the engagement ring by himself and seemingly had been planning to ask her to marry him for a while.
‘He designed it with this amazing jeweler, Kindred Lubeck,’ Swift said during the interview.
‘She does all of her gold engraving by hand.’ about the jewelry designer of Artifex Fine Jewelry, ‘a goldsmith, hand engraver, and vintage jewelry collector’ who now creates one-of-a-kind pieces in New York.
Swift explained that she had shown Kelce a video of the designer when it was still early into their relationship.
‘I had shown him a video [that] I just thought was so cool,’ she explained.
‘I had shown him a video a year and a half ago, and he was just paying attention to everything, it turns out,’ she said.
The singer admitted that she was ‘gasping’ when she saw the ring that Kelce had designed with Lubeck.
‘When I saw the ring, I was just, like, [gasping],’ she shared during the show. ‘I was like, “I know who made that! I know who made that! And also, you listen to me.” He did amazing, it was, like, “You really know me.”‘
‘I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex,’ she added.
